Bulgaria raises electronic vignette tariffs for vehicles up to 3.5 t from 1 August 2026

Bulgarian Road Infrastructure Agency RIA/BGTOLL

On 1 August 2026, Bulgaria introduced new electronic vignette tariffs for vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes, covering passenger cars, minibuses, M1 motorhomes and light trailers. The Road Infrastructure Agency of Bulgaria (RIA) published the updated prices via the national BGTOLL system.

The change applies to all vignette validity periods.

New vignette tariffs
  • Daily: 5.30 EUR
  • Weekend: 6.60 EUR
  • Weekly: 10.00 EUR
  • Monthly: 19.90 EUR
  • Quarterly: 35.90 EUR
  • Annual: 64.50 EUR

Note: The penalty for driving on the toll network without a valid vignette is €46.50.

Coverage zones and enforcement

Vignettes are required for travel on motorways and first-, second- and third-class state and highway roads.

  • Electronic registration: The vignette is registered to the vehicle's licence plate number in a database. No physical vignette stickers are issued.
  • Automatic enforcement: Monitoring is conducted via stationary and mobile BGTOLL photo and video enforcement units.
Sales points and advice for drivers

An electronic vignette can be purchased through the following official channels:

  • The official bgtoll.bg web portal and mobile app
  • Self-service terminals in border areas
  • Service stations and authorised sales outlets

Important: Buy the vignette before entering toll sections. When applying, verify the vehicle's licence-plate number and registration-country code; any character error invalidates the vignette.
