Polish customs is moving to the NCTS Phase 6 transit system (with an Opt-in option) from August 2026. Technical works begin on 2 August 2026 at 19:00 Kyiv time, and Poland's electronic transit system may be unavailable while the switchover runs.
What this means at the border:
While the software is being reconfigured, Polish border crossing points may process trucks irregularly or pause freight clearance altogether. Expect the queue to move in bursts and estimated waiting times to be unreliable.
🇺🇦 Ukraine:
- The eCherha booking system is operating normally — the bottleneck is on the Polish side
- Your place in the queue is preserved; there is no need to cancel a booking
- Live figures for each crossing are on the checkpoint pages, for example Shehyni
🇵🇱 Poland:
- 2 August, 19:00 Kyiv time: NCTS technical works start
- Transit clearance may be suspended until the system is restored
Carriers holding a T1 document:
If a T1 transit document was issued in NCTS version 5, it must be reissued. The carrier or driver who filed the original declaration has to redo it in the new system as soon as it goes live.
- Wait for NCTS Phase 6 to come online
- Reissue the T1 in the new system
- Register the new T1 number before crossing the border
Ukraine's State Customs Service has published updated guidance on completing transit declarations via the Trader Portal. Build extra time into early-August schedules and check queue data before departure.
