Kuznica Bialostocka: S19 route to Bruzgi border open

Polish Border Guard

Drivers heading for the Kuznica Bialostocka — Bruzgi road border crossing on the Polish-Belarusian frontier have a fully upgraded approach route. Since 27 July 2026, national road No. 19 is open to passenger traffic along its entire length up to the border.

How to reach the crossing:
  • Sokolka Polnoc junction to Kuznica junction: drive on the S19 expressway.
  • Kuznica junction to the state border: continue on the dual-carriageway section of national road No. 19.

The upgraded layout separates opposing traffic streams on the final kilometres before the checkpoint, which removes the overtaking bottlenecks familiar to regular travellers.

Who may use the crossing:
🇵🇱 Poland:
  • Passenger vehicles: permitted.
  • Buses and coaches: not handled at this crossing.
  • Freight traffic: suspended since 9 November 2021 until further notice, under the Interior Ministry regulation of 13 March 2020 (Journal of Laws 2023, item 1403, as amended).
Practical advice:

Hauliers and bus operators should plan alternative crossings, as neither restriction has an announced end date. For car drivers, the expressway shortens the drive itself but has no effect on border and customs clearance times.

Before setting off, check the current waiting times at Polish border crossings and allow extra time at weekends and around public holidays, when volumes rise sharply.
