Bus passage to Poland to be restricted for one and a half years at Shehyni – Medyka checkpoint

State Customs Service of Ukraine

From June 15, 2026, repair work on the bus lane for entry into the Republic of Poland will begin at the Shehyni – Medyka checkpoint. This was announced by the State Customs Service of Ukraine, citing the Polish customs administration.

During the repair period, bus passage from Ukraine to Poland through the Shehyni crossing will not be carried out. Instead, bus traffic in the opposite direction — from Poland to Ukraine through Medyka — will operate as usual.

How long will the restrictions last?

According to preliminary information, work on the bus lane will last until November 2027. This means carriers and passengers should expect the restriction on bus departures to Poland via this route to be in effect for approximately one and a half years.

Where should buses from Ukraine go?

During the repair, it is advisable to redirect bus services from Ukraine to Poland to neighboring crossings — in particular Rava-Ruska. Current waiting times and the operating status of all bus checkpoints can be tracked in the bus transportation section to adjust routes in advance and avoid unnecessary delays.

It is worth noting that near the Rava-Ruska checkpoint on the Ukrainian-Polish border, plans are underway to equip temporary transport stops with 270 parking spaces for trucks.
