Vehicle Technical Requirements

Before crossing the border, check that EVERYTHING works:

💡 Lighting (CRITICAL)
  • Low beam headlights work (must be on constantly in EU)
  • High beam works
  • Brake lights illuminate
  • Reverse lights work
  • Parking lights work
🛑 Brakes & Steering
  • Brakes respond instantly
  • Turn signals work (left and right)
  • Horn works
  • Steering wheel turns easily
👁️ Visibility
  • Windshield wipers work
  • All three mirrors in place
  • No cracks longer than 30 cm
🛞 Tires (IMPORTANT)
  • Tread minimum 1.6 mm
  • November-March: ONLY winter tires (mandatory in Poland)
  • No bulges or damage
🧰 Equipment (EU law)
  • Reflective vests for EVERY passenger
  • First aid kit
  • Fire extinguisher (minimum 1 kg)
  • 2 warning triangles OR emergency beacons
