The most direct route by road typically follows this path:

1. Take the A2 motorway east from Bucharest towards Constanta
2. Near Fetești, take the exit onto DN2A towards Giurgeni
3. Cross the Danube at Giurgeni-Vadu Oii Bridge
4. Continue on DN22 through Măcin
5. Follow DN22 to Isaccea
