Key facts
Queues and waiting times
Typical waits range from 30 minutes to several hours and depend on the day, road repairs and the time of day, with the heaviest delays in the late evening and on holidays. Because of the tonnage limit, queues here can build up at peak hours. Since November 2025 the Entry/Exit System (EES) verifies biometric data for Schengen travel, which may lengthen processing.
Live queue data, user reports and statistics are available on the checkpoint status page, while official figures are published by granica.gov.pl and dpsu.gov.ua.
Planning your trip
Drivers should carry a valid biometric passport or visa, vehicle registration, a driving licence and a Green Card insurance certificate. Commercial vehicles up to 3.5 t are advised to use the eCherha electronic queue during busy periods.
To compare typical traffic and choose a calmer time to cross, review the Ukraine–Poland crossing statistics before you set off.
