Smilnytsia — Krosstsenko crossing overview
This is an international road border crossing between Ukraine and Poland, linking the village of Smilnytsia on the Ukrainian side with Krosstsenko in Poland. It is the lowest-traffic point on this stretch of the route, which keeps waiting times short for most of the year. The post operates around the clock, 24/7.
It sits on route T-14-18 (Smilnytsia–Staryi Sambir–Turka). The distance from Lviv is about 123 km (roughly two hours), while Krosstsenko lies just 2 km away on the Polish side. Daily flow is approximately 1,800 people and vehicles, with minimal queues.
Who can cross
- Cars, buses, pedestrians and cyclists are all permitted to pass.
- Only trucks up to 3.5 tonnes and small or mid-size buses are accepted; larger lorries are redirected to Krakovets or Rava-Ruska.
- Pedestrian crossing is allowed and is popular with walkers and cyclists.
- Required documents include a biometric passport, vehicle registration, driving licence, a Green Card (the PDF version has been accepted since 2025) and medical insurance.
Queues and waiting times
Average waiting for cars is 15–60 minutes, while pedestrians usually wait little or nothing, up to about 15 minutes. On peak days such as weekends or holidays delays can reach two hours. Because traffic is light, queues here stay among the shortest on the Ukraine–Poland border. Check the live figures before travelling via official sources such as granica.gov.pl, dpsu.gov.ua and kordon.customs.gov.ua, or follow forecasts and user check-ins on this site.
You can view current data for this crossing on its live status page and compare typical patterns on the Ukraine–Poland statistics page.
