Travellers crossing from Ukraine into Poland at Dołhobyczów should expect slower clearance for a long time to come. The Polish side of the crossing has entered a full modernisation phase that will last at least until the end of 2026, with disruption announced for both passenger and freight traffic on the inbound direction into Poland.
What the works involve:
This is a structural rebuild rather than routine maintenance, so throughput will vary from week to week as different areas are handed over to contractors.

- Departures run through the Uhryniv checkpoint, where queues will build before Polish processing

- Delays are officially flagged for the entry into Poland direction
- The number of open lanes may change during the day
Practical advice:
- Check live queue data before you leave — neighbouring crossings can differ by hours
- Consider Ustyluh or Rava-Ruska as alternatives, keeping in mind that Hrebenne is also under repair
- Build in a buffer if you have a connecting flight or a booked unloading slot
- Follow officers' instructions on site: markings may not match the familiar layout
