In Poland, the next open trading Sunday is Sunday, 30 August 2026. This is the last Sunday of August and one of the few days in the year when large shops, supermarkets, and shopping centres are permitted to open. On all other Sundays, retail trading is restricted by law.

Why most Sundays the shops are closed
Poland’s Act on the Restriction of Trade on Sundays and Public Holidays (in force since 2018) limits retail trading to a small number of designated trading Sundays each year. Even on non-trading Sundays, some essential services and small businesses stay open. These include:

- Small owner-operated stores where the owner serves customers personally (e.g., many Żabka convenience stores)
Retailers who violate the ban face fines ranging from PLN 1,000 to PLN 100,000.
