Combined with the normal weekend ban that starts at 22:00, trucks can only move between 00:00 and 07:00 and between 19:00 and 22:00 on these Saturdays. Long combined ban periods in 2026
Because holiday bans start at 22:00 on the eve, several 2026 dates create long continuous stops. Easter: Saturday 4 April 22:00 to Monday 6 April 22:00. Whitsun: Saturday 23 May 22:00 to Monday 25 May 22:00. Assumption: Friday 14 August 22:00 to Sunday 16 August 22:00. On 1 May, 8 May and 25 December the holiday ban ends at 22:00 on Friday and the weekend ban starts again at 22:00 on Saturday, leaving a 24-hour driving window between them.
Alsace-Moselle local holidays
Good Friday (3 April 2026) and 26 December are statutory public holidays only in the Bas-Rhin, Haut-Rhin and Moselle departments. The eve-of-holiday and holiday ban pattern applies locally there on those dates; in the rest of France they are normal working days for trucks.
Bison Fute traffic management
Bison Fute, the national road-traffic information service, publishes the annual brochure of supplementary truck bans, colour-coded traffic forecasts for peak departure and return days, and temporary prefectural restrictions. Short-notice storm, snow or heat orders and departure-wave measures are published there before they reach commercial route planners.
