Flight Delays Today: 11 Airports, Week 33, Worst Was 5h44m

Service Nakordoni.eu

Overview

Between 04.08.2026 and 11.08.2026 we measured 6,821 departures from 11 airports in Poland, Bulgaria and Moldova. Of those, 4,865 left within 15 minutes of schedule, a share of 71 percent, while 392 departures (5.7 percent) went past the hour mark. Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW) ran latest on average at 20.5 min, and the single worst departure of the week left 5 h 44 min behind schedule from Kraków. These airport departure delays come from nakordoni.eu's own polling of departure boards every five minutes. The figures cover only the 11 airports listed here, only the last seven days, and only departure punctuality. They are not network-wide airline statistics and not an industry ranking. Current boards are on the flights section.

Airport ranking: where departures ran latest

About 15 minutes of average delay separate the top of this table from the bottom. Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW) stands apart, with a 55 percent on-time share that sits 14 points below the next airport on the list.

The busiest boards ran the latest

Warsaw Chopin, Sofia and Kraków are the three highest-volume boards we watch, and all three averaged 13.9 min or more. At the calmer end, KTW airport held 84 percent of departures on time, and Varna Airport closed the week at 5.3 min average with the smallest heavy-delay share, 3.1 percent. Rzeszów airport in Poland is the exception to the volume pattern: 79 percent of its 121 departures left on time, yet 9.9 percent ran past 60 minutes, the highest such rate in the table. Anyone choosing between the two Warsaw airports has a measurable difference to work with, since Modlin averaged 7.8 min against Chopin's 20.5 min. Passengers who reach Rzeszów, Kraków or Chişinău by road from Ukraine should plan the border leg as a separate block of time, and the current waiting figures are on the border queues page.

Each of these five left from a different airport, so no single board produced the week's tail. Four of them were scheduled in the first half of the window, between Tue 04.08 and Thu 06.08. Three carry Wizz Air flight numbers, though these are five individual flights and carry no verdict on any carrier's week. Our records hold how late each one left, and nothing about the reason.

The carrier gap is wider than the airport gap. LOT Polish Airlines closed the week at 54 percent on time across 1,437 measured departures, with 54 flights past the hour. Enter Air sat at the other end, 95 percent on time and an average of -1.7 min, so its departures typically pushed back slightly ahead of schedule, as did FlyOne at -2.2 min. Buzz and Wizz Air both ran high volumes with very different outcomes, 80 percent against 73 percent on time. Every figure in this table is punctuality on departures from the 11 airports we monitor during these seven days, and says nothing about a carrier's wider network. Weekly figures per carrier stay on our airline punctuality page.

A carrier appears above only with at least 68 measured departures, which is 1 percent of the week's total. Smaller samples exist in our data, and a handful of flights cannot support a published percentage, so those carriers are left unranked. Our records show how late a flight left, never why, and we publish no causes.

How the week trended

Punctuality improved steadily. Tue 04.08 was the weakest day at 17.6 min average and 61 percent on time; Tue 11.08 was the strongest at 9 min and 79 percent. The only interruption came on Fri 07.08, when the average moved back up to 14.6 min from 13.1 min the day before. The first and last day of the window are partial, because the measurement period is a rolling 7×24 hours rather than calendar days, so their lower departure counts carry no meaning.

Delayed right now

Snapshot taken at 12:51 Kyiv time on 11.08.2026, and it ages within the hour. Across the monitored airports, 33 departures were running more than 15 minutes late at that moment, 7 of them past 60 minutes. For flight delays today, only the live board carries the current state of your flight.

What to do with these numbers

  • Open the online departure board for your airport before you leave home. The weekly window above is closed; the boards keep moving.
  • Leave extra time on a short transfer when departing from an airport near the top of the table. A departure delay can shrink during the flight, and a tight connection is where it becomes expensive.
  • When two airports serve the same city, the punctuality difference is a genuine tiebreaker, as Warsaw's 20.5 min against Modlin's 7.8 min shows.
  • If the trip begins with a land border crossing, check the queue before setting off. That part of the journey can be planned around.
