At the "Vylok" checkpoint, the shift change schedule is standard for the Zakarpattia Customs and the State Border Guard Service. During these periods, vehicle processing temporarily slows down, so it is worth considering them when planning a trip.
Shift change schedule from the Ukrainian side:
- Morning shift: from 08:00 to 08:30
- Evening shift: from 20:00 to 20:30
Why delays last longer
The Hungarian checkpoint "Tisabez" operates according to Central European time, so the shift change on the Hungarian side is shifted back one hour relative to Kyiv time – i.e., at 07:00 and 19:00 Kyiv time.
Due to this time difference, longer "windows" of slowdown are formed when shifts are updated on both sides of the border:
- in the morning — approximately from 07:00 to 08:30;
- in the evening — approximately from 19:00 to 20:30.
It is during these intervals that processing on both sides can noticeably slow down.
Advice for drivers
If possible, plan your approach to the checkpoint to avoid these time windows. The estimated waiting time and best hours for crossing can be viewed in advance on the "Vylok" checkpoint statistics page, and other crossings on the Ukrainian-Hungarian border – in the Hungary section.
