Ukraine's electronic border queue system eCherha has introduced a new rule for foreign carriers. The country where the truck or bus is registered must now match the carrier's country of registration — otherwise the system will block the vehicle from joining the queue.

What has changed:

The automatic verification now triggers in two common operational scenarios that affect international logistics companies daily.

  • Creating a queue entry: a vehicle can only be added if its license plate country matches the carrier's country.
  • Replacing a vehicle: the same rule applies when swapping a truck or bus already in an active queue.
Who is affected:
🇺🇦 Ukraine:
  • The rule covers all border checkpoints that operate via the eCherha system.
  • It applies to both freight trucks and passenger buses run by foreign carriers.

If your truck has foreign plates but the operating company is registered elsewhere, the system will reject the booking. Carriers should reconcile their company registration with vehicle documents in advance to avoid delays at busy points such as Chop (Tysa) and Porubne.

The change aims to cut down on fictitious registrations and make the queue more transparent for everyone involved in international transport.
