Romania and Bulgaria share the Danube. Major crossings: Giurgiu–Ruse Friendship Bridge, Calafat–Vidin (New Europe Bridge) and the ferry at Bechet–Oryahovo. Since January 2025 both countries are full Schengen members for land borders, removing permanent passport controls. Toll for the bridges still applies: ~EUR 6 for cars at Friendship Bridge.
