Plan Your Route Through Germany

To navigate disruptions safely and efficiently:

  1. Check the live traffic map before departure. Conditions change hourly; delays can add significant costs to your trip.
  2. Respect weekend and holiday HGV driving bans. Germany enforces strict bans on Sundays and public holidays. Use truck parking areas to comply with rest periods.
  3. Allow buffer time for detours. Full closures may add 1–3 hours to your route. Use the tachograph calculator to ensure compliance with EU driving time rules.
  4. Calculate toll costs. Detours may increase your LKW-Maut (German motorway toll). Use the trip cost calculator to estimate expenses.
