The border between Ukraine and Poland runs about 535 km and is the main bridge between Ukraine and the EU. Poland joined the Schengen Area in 2007, so once across travellers can move freely across the zone. Traffic peaks Friday afternoons, weekends and around holidays; the calmest window is 02:00–06:00 on weekdays.
