Croatia and Slovenia are both in Schengen since 2023. The border has no permanent controls. Main crossings: Bregana–Obrežje (A2/A3 motorway, the main Zagreb–Ljubljana route), Macelj–Gruškovje (A4) and several coastal/Istrian crossings. Slovenian police may still run spot checks. Adriatic summer traffic is heavy: Saturday southbound and Sunday northbound queues.
