Flight delays today are easier to judge against the week behind them. Between 14.10.2026 and 21.10.2026, nakordoni.eu measured 5,860 departures at the 11 airports we monitor. Of these, 3,974 (68%) left within 15 minutes of schedule, and 454 (7.7%) left more than 60 minutes late. The average departure delay was 16.5 min. The worst single departure was 5 h 55 min late.
Scope: all figures come from our own polling of the departure boards, cover only the 11 listed airports and only the last 7 days, and measure departure delay only. They are not network-wide airline statistics or an industry ranking. Burgas Airport had the highest average delay, 30.3 min, but on just 27 measured departures. Airport ranking: where departures ran latest
Burgas Airport (BOJ) led the airport departure delays table at 30.3 min, with Kraków John Paul II International Airport (KRK) at 25.4 min and Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW) at 23.7 min close behind. Katowice International Airport (KTW) was lowest at 4.8 min, a gap of 25.5 min to the top of the table.

Two large Polish hubs sit at the top of a wide spread
The Burgas figure rests on 27 departures, so no percentages are published for it. The most reliable high readings come from Kraków and Warsaw, which together account for 2,853 measured departures. Kraków had the largest share of departures over 60 min late, at 13.4%. Warsaw had the lowest on-time share, at 49%, the only airport below 50%. Katowice, Gdańsk, Wrocław and Chişinău all had 82% or more on time, except Katowice, which reached 87%.
For travellers who can choose between airports, the data favours Katowice over Kraków, and Modlin over Warsaw Chopin. The gap between Modlin (7.1 min) and the WAW airport in Warsaw (23.7 min) is 16.6 min on average. Those arriving from across a land border can compare it with border queues before deciding which airport to aim for. Three of the five were scheduled on Fri 16.10 and two on Sat 17.10, the two days with the weakest on-time shares of the week. Two departed from Kraków. The five involve five different carriers and five different routes. These are individual flights, so they say nothing about the airlines involved.

LOT Polish Airlines had the lowest on-time share, 50%, on the largest sample of 1,384 departures. Wizz Air recorded the most departures over 60 min late, 113, and LOT followed with 69 and Buzz with 77. Ryanair and Turkish Airlines had the highest average delays, 24.3 min and 24.5 min. Enter Air and FlyOne had negative average delays, with 97% and 92% on time. These are punctuality figures for departures from the monitored airports only and not for any carrier's whole network. Transparency note: only carriers with at least 59 measured departures (1% of the week's total) are listed, because a smaller sample does not support a published statistic. Our records hold how late a flight left, not why.
How the week trended
Sat 17.10 was the worst day, with an average delay of 29.7 min and 58% of departures on time. Fri 16.10 followed at 23.7 min and 62%. Thu 15.10 had the lowest average among the full days, 10.9 min, and Mon 19.10 the highest on-time share at 74%. Punctuality weakened sharply into the weekend, then recovered from Sun 18.10 onward. The first and last days of the window (Wed 14.10 and Wed 21.10) are partial, so their counts and averages are not full-day totals.

What to do with these numbers
- Check the live departure board for your flight before leaving for the airport. The weekly window is closed, and the boards keep changing.
- A departure delay does not automatically mean a missed connection, because a delay can shrink in the air. A short transfer is the real risk, so leave extra time when flying from an airport near the top of the table, such as Kraków or Warsaw Chopin.
- When two airports serve the same city, the punctuality gap is a real tiebreaker. Warsaw Chopin and Modlin are one such pair in this week's data.
- If your trip starts with a land border crossing, check the queue times first. That is the part of the journey you can plan around.
