Retail fuel prices in the Czech Republic have significantly decreased since the beginning of June, with diesel becoming cheaper faster than gasoline. The average price of Natural 95 gasoline in the country dropped from 41.23 to 39.30 CZK per liter, and diesel - from 38.38 to 35.60 CZK per liter over the period from June 3 to July 6, 2026. You can track the dynamics conveniently on our page current fuel prices in Europe, which is updated daily.

How prices changed over the month:

Over 33 days of comparison, gasoline became 1.93 CZK (−4.7%) cheaper, and diesel - 2.78 CZK (−7.2%) cheaper. The greater correction of diesel is especially important for freight carriers, as it partially offsets the spring jump in cost.

The decline was preceded by an atypical spring surge: at the end of March, the average price in the Czech Republic reached 41.44 CZK for gasoline and 47.90 CZK for diesel. Already at the beginning of June, diesel had rolled back to 38.38 CZK, while gasoline cost 41.23 CZK.

Fuel prices by regions of the Czech Republic:

The most complete regional cut in the sources is dated June 3. The price range across the country is narrow - only 0.78 CZK between the cheapest and most expensive region for gasoline and 0.71 CZK for diesel.

Where is fuel the cheapest in the Czech Republic?

The cheapest fuel on June 3 was in the Ústí nad Labem Region: Natural 95 gasoline - 40.78 CZK, diesel - 38.02 CZK per liter. Below the average, they also traded in Karlovy Vary, South Bohemian, and Plzeň regions, so the west and northwest of the country remained more advantageous for refueling. For those entering the Czech Republic from Poland, the northern border areas should not be considered a single market with the same price - current prices near the transition can be compared on the page gas stations in Cieszyn / Český Těšín. The savings on one tank for a passenger car are modest but palpable for fleets and regular trips across the border.

Where is fuel the most expensive?

The most expensive gasoline was in the South Moravian Region - 41.56 CZK per liter, and the highest diesel price was recorded in Prague - 38.73 CZK. Diesel was also expensive in the Vysočina and South Moravian regions, i.e., the D1 highway and large cities with high demand did not offer the best conditions for refueling.

State regulation of fuel prices:

Retail fuel prices in the Czech Republic are still partially regulated by the state. On July 11-13, the Ministry of Finance set the maximum allowable retail prices: 41.86 CZK for gasoline and 38.79 CZK for diesel, including VAT.

The state also limits the margin on non-premium fuel to 3 CZK per liter. According to the ministry, at some gas stations along highways, the margin reached 7 CZK for gasoline and 6.50 CZK for diesel. This is especially important for transit: gas stations on highways can be significantly less profitable than urban or off-highway ones, even when average prices in the country are decreasing.

What does it mean for drivers:

The current guideline is approximately 39.30 CZK for gasoline and 35.60 CZK for diesel. For calculating the cost of a trip, it is more practical to take the average diesel price in the country as a basis and add a surcharge for refueling on the highway, rather than relying on the lowest regional price.
