The Entry/Exit System (EES) applies at all external borders of Schengen member states, as well as certain European countries that have joined the EES but are not Schengen members. This guide helps you understand where the EES will be in operation.
The EES applies at the external borders of the following 30 European countries. This includes all Schengen Area members and some additional countries that have joined the system:

The EES applies at all types of external borders:
All international airports, including transit routes. Major airports will have self-service kiosks available.
All car and pedestrian border crossing points. Checkpoints on bus and train routes are also included.
Ports and ferry terminals. Also applies to cruise ship travelers.
The following major airports will be among the first to fully implement EES and will be equipped with self-service kiosks:
Note: During the transition period (October 2025 — April 2026), some smaller border crossing points may not yet be fully equipped. Major airports and main land border crossing points will be fully operational first.
