Латвія посилює правила електронного бронювання черги на кордоні для боротьби з шахрайством

The Latvian government has approved new regulations for the electronic queue booking system at the country's external land borders. The changes target fraudulent activities detected during the first month of operation since the system launched on October 15, 2024.

What Changes for Travelers:

The primary change prohibits corrections, clarifications, or modifications to data after registration in the electronic queue booking system. This rule aims to prevent booking manipulations that have plagued the system.

The only exception applies to vehicle driver information, which can still be modified. Implementing this feature in the GoSwift system requires a three-month transition period.

Why These Changes Were Necessary:

During the first month of operation, authorities discovered bot programs being used to manipulate reservations. These manipulations created artificial queues and restricted access for legitimate users trying to book their border crossing slots.

Practical Advice for Travelers:
  • Double-check all information before confirming your booking
  • Ensure vehicle registration numbers and other details are entered correctly
  • Driver data changes will remain possible after the transition period
