Overview

During week 36, 11 full closures and numerous long‑term roadworks affect seven German motorways. For HGV/TIR drivers, these disruptions can add hours to travel time, force lane changes, or require detours around restricted sections. This is a LIVE snapshot; conditions may change after publication. Check the live traffic & closures map before departure to verify the current status.

The German motorway network (German Autobahn) is a key corridor for north‑south and east‑west freight flows. Any blockage on major routes such as the A3, A5 or A7 can ripple through surrounding highways, especially for trucks that must obey lane‑width limits and no‑overtaking rules.

Drivers should also be aware of upcoming traffic bans. For example, a truck ban in Germany tomorrow may apply on Saturdays and public holidays, while a traffic ban in Slovakia could affect cross‑border trips. Always confirm the latest ban schedule.

Plan your route through Germany

1. Open the live traffic & closures map before you start. Update it at each rest stop.

2. Review the weekend & holiday driving bans calendar. A truck ban in Germany tomorrow could force you to delay departure or take an alternative route.

3. Use the truck parkings map to find safe rest areas near closures, especially on the A3 and A5 where long‑term works are concentrated.

4. Add a buffer of at least 30 minutes for each major closure. This helps you meet mandatory rest periods without risking tachograph violations.
