Those planning to cross the Ukrainian-Hungarian border in the coming days are warned of temporary traffic complications through the international road checkpoint «Vylok – Tysabech». Modernization works will last three days.
What is happening at the border
According to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, from June 16 to 18, 2026, repair and installation works are being carried out on the territory of the checkpoint. Old modular structures are being replaced with new ones — this is part of the general program for updating checkpoints and improving working conditions for customs officers and border guards. The work is being performed by the Infrastructure Recovery and Development Service in Zakarpattia Oblast.
How this will affect travelers
Due to the dismantling of old and installation of new modules, a slowdown in the checkpoint's operational rhythm is expected. Customs and border procedures may take longer than usual, as the throughput capacity will be partially reduced for these three days. The estimated waiting time should be checked against queue statistics at "Vylok" before departure.
Recommendations for drivers and passengers
Border guards and customs officers ask travelers:
- take into account possible delays when planning time for an international trip;
- before departure, check the queue status on the official resources of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine — in particular, on the interactive map and in the Telegram channels of the Western Regional Directorate;
- if there are significant queues, choose alternative checkpoints on the border with Hungary.
🇺🇦 Alternative checkpoints with Hungary:
- «Chop (Tisa) – Záhony» — the largest road crossing in the region;
- «Luzhanka – Berehshuran»;
- «Kosyno – Barabash».
It is expected that the «Vylok – Tysabech» checkpoint will return to its usual operating rhythm on June 19 — immediately after the completion of all planned infrastructure works.
