EES airport technology

France activated the EES (Entry/Exit System) at airports from October 12, 2025.

Where EES works:

  • ✅ Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) — full activation
  • ✅ Paris Orly — full activation
  • ✅ Nice Côte d'Azur — full activation
  • ✅ Other international airports

What is registered:

  • Biometric data (fingerprints)
  • Facial photo
  • Entry/exit date
  • Passport data

Who it applies to:

  • Third-country nationals (non-EU)
  • Ukrainians, Moldovans, Georgians
  • US, Canadian, UK, Australian citizens
  • Does NOT apply to EU citizens!

Important about land borders:

  • EES not fully active on roads yet
  • Traditional passport stamps
  • Possible activation in 2026

Tip: When departing via airport — record your exit for correct 90/180 day counting.
