Латвія: майже 29 тисяч автомобілів скористалися електронною чергою на кордоні з Росією та Білоруссю

Латвійська прикордонна служба

Latvia's electronic border queue registration system has processed nearly 29,000 vehicles since its launch on October 15 last year. The system covers crossings into Russia and Belarus, with 28,807 vehicles successfully registered and crossed during the two and a half month period.

Crossing point statistics:

The Belarus direction sees the highest traffic volume. Pāternieki border crossing point leads with 13,115 cargo and passenger vehicles registered and processed through the checkpoint.

Why the system was introduced:

The electronic registration was implemented urgently to address serious road safety concerns. Previously, cargo vehicles waited for days or weeks along roadsides in the border area, creating hazardous conditions and significant security risks.

🇱🇻 How the system works:
  • Register online through lvrobeza.lv portal
  • Cross the border only at your assigned time
  • Wait at designated parking areas or elsewhere in Latvia
  • No need to arrive early at the border zone
Important for drivers:

The current system is a temporary solution while the Latvian State Radio and Television Center develops a permanent information system and user portal. Drivers should register in advance online and plan their routes according to their assigned crossing times. Physical queues at the border are no longer necessary or legally permitted.
