Serbia–Kosovo is an adjacent border that Belgrade administers as internal administrative crossings rather than a recognised international border. The main road crossings are Merdare–Merdarë (the busiest, on the Niš–Pristina E80 corridor), Jarinje and Brnjak in the Serb-majority north, plus Končulj–Dheu i Bardhë and Mutivode. Kosovo has at times issued temporary entry/exit documents for Serbian-plated vehicles. Waits at Merdare are usually 15–60 minutes but spike during holidays and periods of political tension.
