For transit drivers this date matters because Bulgaria is the main land corridor between Turkey, Greece and Central Europe. Freight moving north from the Kapitan Andreevo direction toward Romania and Hungary, and UA-EU traffic routed through the Balkans, must be planned around a full 24-hour closure of the Bulgarian highway network.
