##### Overview

The Netherlands is preparing for a major wave of roadworks during the weekend of **October 2–5**. The state agency Rijkswaterstaat will close several key motorways simultaneously to carry out comprehensive repairs and maintenance. This will affect drivers from Ukraine and other countries transiting through Europe to ports and central cities.

##### Main Motorway Closures

- **A10 West** (Amsterdam area): from Friday 22:00 to Sunday 10:00. Diversion via A9/A5 or A10 Oost/Nord
- **A6** (Lelystad-Noord to Emmeloord): from Friday 22:00 to Monday 6:00
- **A16** (towards Rotterdam): from Friday 20:00 to Monday 5:00. Parallel lane partially available
- **A28, A59, A76**: simultaneous closures from Friday (21:00–22:00) to Monday (5:00–6:00)

##### Alternative Routes for Trucks

Heavy goods vehicle drivers heading towards Rotterdam or the southern ports are recommended to use the A15, A27, and A58. For routes to the Rhine Valley, detours via the A2 and A79 are available.

##### Long-term Works

On the Papendrecht Bridge (N3) in both directions, works are ongoing until April 21, 2027. A valve is being replaced, so please plan extra travel time for this section.

##### How to Plan Your Trip

If possible, start your journey earlier on Friday (before 18:00) or postpone it to Tuesday. Check up-to-date delay information before departure.
