# Paternieki: Exit From Latvia to Belarus Suspended

Traffic leaving Latvia for Belarus has been halted at the **Paternieki** border crossing point. The Latvian State Border Guard announced the suspension on the evening of 31 July 2026, citing technical reasons and asking travellers to follow further updates.

Only the outbound direction is affected: vehicles heading from Latvia into Belarus are not being processed at Paternieki while the problem lasts. The notice gave no reopening time, so drivers should treat the stoppage as open-ended until the Border Guard confirms normal operation.
