# Temporary Reversed Traffic on E-79 Near Blagoevgrad: Border Queues Expected

Drivers traveling the E-79 from Sofia toward Greece should allow extra time: a temporary traffic scheme is now in force at kilometer 375. The border checkpoints themselves are operating normally, with no reported delays.

##### What changed at kilometer 375 of the E-79

Bulgaria’s Road Infrastructure Agency (API) has introduced temporary reversed traffic on the E-79 (I-1) between kilometers 375 and 376 near Blagoevgrad, on the Sofia–Kulata route. Two lanes now serve traffic toward Sofia, while only one lane serves the direction of the [Kulata](https://nakordoni.eu/en/id/id_484) checkpoint.

**Due to the lane narrowing, drivers should reduce speed, maintain a safe distance, and strictly obey temporary signs and road markings.** The highest-risk point is the merge zone where two lanes converge into one. Overtaking is prohibited in this section.
