# European Entry/Exit System (EES) launches on 10 April 2026

EES will be fully operational at all external Schengen Area border crossing points from 10 April 2026.

The system will apply to drivers who are not citizens of an EU member state. The full implementation of EES is expected to lead to increased waiting times at border crossing points.
