## Krosstsenko: Ukrainian border-guard shift change at the Ukrainian–Polish border — when and how long to wait

Border guard shift change on the Ukrainian side of **Krosstsenko** happens **twice a day — at 08:00 and 20:00** local time. These are regular shifts that ensure continuous border control.

During shift change, processing of of cars at Krosstsenko typically slows for 20–60 minutes. To minimize wait, plan to cross **30+ minutes before or 60+ minutes after** the approximate shift change. Check the live queue above for current status.

At the neighboring Poland checkpoint the border-guard shift change happens at the same local times, but Poland is on Central European Time — one hour behind Kyiv — so there it falls around **07:00 and 19:00 Kyiv time**. Because the two shifts overlap, the slowdown stretches into wider windows on both sides: **roughly 07:00–08:30 in the morning and 19:00–20:30 in the evening** (Kyiv time). During these intervals, processing on both sides can noticeably slow down.

## User Reviews — 4.2/5 (6 reviews)

Travellers crossing at Krosstsenko are overwhelmingly positive, with five of the six reviews rating the checkpoint 4/5 or 5/5. The dominant theme is speed: several drivers report clearing the border in well under an hour. One reviewer entered Ukraine in just 30 minutes, while another joined the queue home at 06:42 with only three cars ahead and was across into Ukraine by 06:57 — a 15-minute crossing. A further visitor found just 3-5 cars per lane at 10:08, and noted that even this small backlog was caused by the customs database going offline for roughly 15-20 minutes rather than by traffic volume.

Queue patterns favour the green (nothing-to-declare) channel. One driver described being able to drive straight through the barrier with only 3-4 cars inside the territory on green, while the red channel held a longer line of roughly 10-12 vehicles. Lane choice also matters: one reviewer specifically recommends lane 5, where Polish officers were said to process cars faster. The single negative review is terse, reporting arrival at position 120 in the queue, which shows that heavy backlogs do occur, most likely around the December holiday peak.

Practical tips: arrive early in the morning (before 07:00), use the green channel if you have nothing to declare, choose lane 5 on the Polish side, and allow for occasional short delays from system outages.
